Message:
gameknot.com
I was recently playing a league game that I had to win. Early in the game, I pressed forward with my pawns knowing this was important to the end game. Then the crucial move came. I forced an attack on his king that won me a pawn and forced his knight to move up supported by two pawns. However, if I was to take that knight, no matter how he took back with his pawns, he would leave an open passed pawn that from every calculation I did could not be reached by his king or his remaining rook...
The sacrifice on move 40 has got to be one of the best ever sacrifices I have ever played, but the thinking started back several moves...
Any thoughts on this game are welcome. The game is still in motion....but soon will be done I believe as I am going to get a queen and he can't stop it....
I would appreciate if someone could annotate it--let me know if anyone is interested.
Thanks.

Message: Cool. I made a similar rook sacrifice pretty recently. For some reason, I run into a lot of positions where I can get along with throwing that piece away.

Having played through the game I guess I could annotate it... Some rather interesting positional decisions by White earlier on didn't help the mobility of his knight. Quite ironic that once it did find a good square, it got axed by that rook (Exchange) sac.
Cheers,
Ion
